Lakewood to North Olmsted, OH: 22 Servers Without Missing a Beat
Best Technology was chosen to assist in the design and lead in the implementation of a new data center that will support about 150 system users in North Olmsted, OH and in Washington, DC. The data center houses 16 servers and includes two network segments utilizing state of the art security appliances, color-coded cabling, redundant power systems, and Voice over IP for the new SwitchVox phone system.
Best Technology consultants Buck and Kevin were instrumental in the buildout of the new data-center. Pictured here is Buck, who is assembling switch components that will power the customer’s servers and workstation PCs.
The customer is a large legal, insurance, and retirement administration group in the transit industry. Best Technology was happy to lead the design and integration of their new data center.
In addition, the client took advantage of Best Technology’s SecureMail Pro with Spooling product, which meant that, even while their e-mail system was being physically moved from Lakewood to North Olmsted, they never missed any email. It was delivered to their users as soon as the system came back up at the new location.

Is Your Business Safe From Malware?
This story is becoming more and more common lately – A client calls in because their computer appears to be infected by a virus, despite having the latest anti-virus software installed on their PC. Further investigation confirms the PC to be infected, not by a virus, but by a malicious piece of software, also known as “malware”. Sometimes the malware can be removed, restoring the computer to full operational status, although the operation can take hours. Other times, the computer is so deeply infected by malware that the only option is to copy all important data off the PC, wipe the hard drive clean, and re-install the operating system and all applications from scratch, which can take days. In either case, productivity is lost, and your business loses time and money. How can you prevent this situation from happening and, if it does, how can Best Technology get you back on your feet as soon as possible?
